Steps to Set Power

  1. Access Power Mode
    • Press and hold the MODE button for about 3 seconds to enter advanced settings or power mode selection on most industrial fiber optic sensors (e.g., Keyence FS-N series) .
    • The display will indicate the current mode, such as FINE, TURBO, or SUPER.
  2. Select the Appropriate Power Mode
    • FINE: For detecting small differences at short distances.
    • TURBO: For longer detection distances when FINE mode is insufficient.
    • SUPER: For harsh environments with dust, debris, or variable conditions .
    • Use the manual button to scroll through and select the desired mode, then press MODE to confirm .
  3. Calibrate Light Intensity
    • Place the target object at the farthest detection point and press the SET key to record the minimum light intensity.
    • Move the object closer to the sensor until the desired maximum intensity is reached and press SET again.
    • The sensor will automatically calculate the trigger threshold and display it as a percentage of light intensity (e.g., 15% threshold) .
  4. Adjust Sensitivity (Optional)
    • Some sensors allow fine-tuning of sensitivity using △ and ▽ buttons or the amplifier interface.
    • This ensures reliable detection even if environmental conditions change .
  5. Confirm and Save Settings
    • After selecting the power mode and calibrating, press MODE or SET as instructed to save the configuration.
    • Some sensors allow locking the settings to prevent accidental changes .
  6. Output Signal Configuration
    • Choose between LIGHT-ON or DARK-ON output modes depending on whether the sensor should trigger when light is detected or blocked .

  • For reflective sensors, align the optical axis carefully to maximize received light intensity.
