2. Install Hardware

  • Mount servers and switches according to their U size, ensuring rails and brackets are compatible .
  • Install patch panels near the network switches to centralize connections.
  • Place UPS units to provide backup power and protect against outages .

3. Cable Routing and Management

  • Use structured cabling: Connect servers to switches via patch cables, and switches to patch panels for organized distribution .
  • Plan cable paths: Route cables along vertical and horizontal management channels to avoid tangling and interference .
  • Leave slack: Allow extra cable length for future changes or maintenance.
  • Label cables: Clearly mark both ends of each cable to simplify troubleshooting and upgrades .

5. Cooling and Safety
